Create and Find Maps
You can create your own maps and browse millions of maps online. We're just trying to make it easier to sort through them all. Google My Maps is a great way to create maps, but there are other websites that you can use. Here's a Video Guide to get you started, or you can read this Getting Started Guide, and learn more about how online maps work. There are lots of ways to express yourself in the media of maps. A good map can be as simple as markers with descriptions, but there is much more that can be added. Check out these highly rated maps for some great examples.Share Places by Submitting
Ongopongo accepts links to any kind of map. After finding or creating a map, submit a link to the map with a title and short description. Share maps with any kind of content, but please make sure it's a direct link to at least one map. Some of the best submissions so far have been about a trip with photos and video, favorite places around town, and maps showing locations united by a common theme. When you submit a map link, please select the most appropriate geographic location for it. If you can't find a good category then just select 'Miscellaneous' from the bottom of the drop-down menu.
Discover Places Around the World
You can find locations around the world in several ways. Browse by location, search by keyword, or sort through submissions by their stats. Use the comment section of any submission to add more information or ask questions. Ongopongo supports many languages, and users visit this site from all around the world. There have already been several thousand map submissions, and more are added every day.Reward Good Maps and Earn Points
Click the plus or minus sign to vote maps up and down. Users earn 3 points for submitting a new map, 1 point for every comment, and 3 points for successfully inviting a new member. Highly ranked maps will be specially featured on the site. Here's the current user ranking list. There will be contests for active members and other fun ways to get rewards for contributions. Updates will be posted here, but you can contact Ongopongo for some pre-release information.Get Started!
